Mice are commonly seen in and around Windham residential and commercial properties. Their habits are pretty well-known. During inclement weather, they need refuge from heavy rains. Come fall, they are looking for a warm place to spend the winter and an ongoing food supply with which they can sustain themselves and their young.
Small as they are, mice do pose a health threat.
They can contaminate food sources as well as expose your home or business to parasites like ringworms and tapeworms, and mites (which may cause skin irritation in humans and pets). As well, they are known to carry diseases such as salmonella and rat bite fever. Mice can create maladies through contaminated urine and fecal matter than can go airborne and be inhaled by people and pets (such as the Hantavirus).
